Who we are

flaggedfor.me is a private company-news tracking tool for a small group of authorized account holders. It is not a public commercial service and has no open sign-ups.

Information we collect

Authentication credentials — each account holder's chosen username and password hash.
Phone number — if (and only if) an account holder enters one in the Admin page to receive SMS alerts.
Ticker symbols and news data — the companies each account holder chooses to track and news articles we fetch from public data providers.
Session cookies — an HMAC-signed cookie to keep account holders logged in.

How information is used

Information is used solely to operate the app for its account holders: displaying news events, sending SMS alerts (only to account holders who have opted in), and keeping sessions authenticated. We do not use the information for advertising, marketing, or analytics.

Third parties

We send API requests to the following service providers in order to operate the app:

Twilio — SMS delivery. An account holder's phone number is transmitted to Twilio when an alert is sent to that account holder.
Anthropic — LLM evaluation of news items.
Financial Modeling Prep — news and financial data.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with any other parties. Phone numbers are never used for marketing.

Data retention

Information is stored in a private database on the application's hosting environment. Account holders can delete their own data at any time by editing the app's settings or requesting removal from the administrator.

Opt-out

Reply STOP to any SMS to stop messages immediately, or remove your phone number on the Admin page. See the SMS Opt-In Policy for details.
